Chillin' With The Neighbours
One of the things I really enjoy about life in the barrio is the buzz of activity. Granted the buzz can sometimes be hard to escape but, nonetheless, I do enjoy the buzz. Sometimes, it feels like living on a college campus (without the well manicured green spaces). You can always hear conversations, music, laughter, disagreements (put nicely), and there always seems to be something to join in on.
Today I played soccer which is conveniently right behind my house. As I walked around the corner back to my house I saw cousins playing, a friend heading out to visit some other friends, and one of the pastors on his way home (lives below me)--life just rolling out in a buzz of activity around me. As I type this I hear three different songs being played (ahem, distorted shall we say) by different neighbors as the power comes, then goes, comes again, and is now gone. Ok, so it is like a college campus that hasn't paid it's power bill--but it is a special place with many special people. Here are a few pics from today.
